Beyza Mina Ordu-Akkaya graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Bilkent University in 2005 with High Honors. Between 2005 and 2011, she worked as a consultant in the Corporate Finance departments of leading international firms, specializing in Mergers and Acquisitions. During this period, she provided advisory services to foreign companies on privatization processes in Turkey (e.g., Başkent Gaz) and acquisitions (e.g., Migros). While continuing in her role as a Manager, she resigned in 2011 to pursue an academic career.
In 2011, she was admitted to the University of Cambridge with a full scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in finance. After completing her master’s studies, she earned her Ph.D. in Finance from the Department of Business Administration at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2017. Her doctoral dissertation received the Thesis of the Year Award from the METU Graduate School of Social Sciences. She has also received publication awards from TÜBİTAK and METU, and continues her research activities. She currently serves as a referee for leading journals in the field of finance.
Her publications have appeared in journals such as Journal of Banking & Finance, Resources Policy, Emerging Markets Review, and the North American Journal of Economics and Finance.
