Dr. Colak has conducted studies on such topics as the implementation, evaluation and control of strategic plans that, despite their importance, have been largely ignored in strategic management literature until recent years.



Biography

Mustafa Colak is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management at the Social Sciences University of Ankara (ASBU). He received his BSc degree in Business Administration from Hacettepe University, his dual MBA in Financial Management and Human Resources and Organization Management from the LeBow School of Business at Drexel University and his Ph.D. in Strategic Management with a focus on International Business from the Fox Business School at Temple University, both in USA, where he went thanks to a full scholarship (M.E.B. 1416) from Turkish Government to pursue a master’s and Ph.D. degree. He taught Strategic Management, Global Strategic Management and Software Applications in Business Problems at Temple University between 2000 and 2007 and a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate level courses, including Strategic Management, International Business Management, Organizational Excellence Models, Human Resources Management and Research Methods, at the United Arab Emirates University, where he worked between 2007 and 2015 as a faculty member and won the “College Best Performance Award for Excellence in Teaching” and “Department Best Performance Award for Excellence in Service”. He also worked as a trainer in the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) and SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certificate preparation programs conducted by Morgan International and taught courses on Strategic Planning and Strategic Management. Mustafa ÇOLAK joined ASBU in 2016. His works on international joint ventures, implementation of strategic plans and new product development teams have been published in such scholarly international journals as R&D Management, Journal of General Management and European Journal of Innovation Management. His current research interests include the determinants of innovation capabilities of SMEs and implementation and evaluation of strategic plans.
