Biography

Dr. Çağrı Koç is an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration at Social Sciences University of Ankara (ASBU). Prior to joining the ASBU in 2017, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at HEC Montreal and CIRRELT, Canada. He received his Ph.D. degree (2015) in Operational Research/Management Science, under supervision of professors Tolga Bektaş, Gilbert Laporte and Ola Jabali, from the Southampton Business School of University of Southampton, UK. He is the recipient of the Doctoral Award from the British Operational Research Society (2015). He received the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) “National Young Researchers Career Development Grant (CAREER)” (2019). He has ranked among the world's top 2% scientists by the Elsevier.

His research mainly focuses on the application of mathematical and metaheuristic optimization techniques to transportation, logistics and supply chain management problems, more specifically to vehicle routing and scheduling. He works on modeling and optimization of passenger transportation, freight and cargo distribution operations. He was the founder of Rotamopt - a logistics optimization startup located at ODTU Teknokent.

He has published 35+ articles in leading academic journals including Transportation Research Part B, Transportation Research Part C, Transportation Research Part E, European Journal of Operational Research, Computers & Operations Research, Journal of the Operational Research Society, International Journal of Production Economics, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, International Journal of Production Research, Computers & Industrial Engineering, Flexible Services and Manufacturing Journal, OR Spectrum, International Transactions in Operational Research and among others.
