The OR Society, created over 60 years ago in England, now has 2,700 members in 66 countries, making it the world’s largest organization in the field of operational research. The winning thesis was co-directed by professors Tolga Bektaş, Ola Jabali, and Gilbert Laporte.

Dr. Koç proposed new operational research methods and algorithms for problems relating to vehicle routing, localization and the environment, all essential for the fields of sustainable transportation, city logistics, environmental engineering and transportation economics.
