I conduct research on impact of institutional change on organizational fields such as the higher education system and labor unionism, business-politics interface, diffusion of organizational practices and organizational history.

He is the first to examine historical development of Turkish labor unionism using quantitative data and organizational theories.
He initiated studies of institutional effects on Turkish higher education system using large scale empirical data.
He is an expert on research methodology and multivariate data analysis.
Çetin Önder obtained his undergraduate degree from Boğaziçi University in 1998, his master's from University of Glasgow in 1998, and PhD from Sabancı University in 2006. He worked as a commercial banker between 1996 and 2001. His academic work experience began at Dokuz Eylül University (2007-2008) and continued at Başkent University (2008-2011), Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (2011-2016). He has been at Social Sciences University of Ankara since 2016. His research has been published in reputable national and international journals and he teaches doctorate and master's courses in Organization Theory, Research Methods, and Multivariate Data Analysis. He has also been engaged in projects supported by Scientific and Technological Council of Turkey and local development agencies.
